The Viva Gym concept has been brought to South Africa to finally offer a fitness offering for everyone. Viva has focused on providing a modern, energetic and innovative exercise experience that will appeal to all. Over 210 latest brand new fitness machines and skilled instructors are there to provide training. With having 1500m2 of training areas, an aerobics and spinning studio for the group trainers, Wi-Fi in the ‘chill area’, showers and change rooms to freshen up after workout and lockers to keep the belongings safe. Viva Gym is having vision to roll out successful fitness model throughout the South Africa with approximately 5000 members per club, as well as innovative, fresh and fun fitness concept with quality finishes and the latest products and designs.
Viva Gym, Hillfox, Johannesburg, South Africa was using KRS – gym and membership management software for managing all membership and payment related processes as they wanted to focus more on members than the admin work. They were having approximately 4000 users for that location. Now, they wanted to control access to the gym at 3 entries. The 2 entries are having turnstile for normal people and 1 entry with simple door for handicapped people. They wanted hygienic system for their gym considering health of people.
The biggest challenge is to integrate with KRS – gym and membership management software. As, they wanted to have all membership details from KRS software to access control software for controlling access. All the details of the member like name, date of joining, date of completion of membership, address proof; ID proof should be there with the software which controls the entry. Based on the detail in the application server, the person is allowed/denied at entry.
The software should know the gym time and hours for particular member as well as day & time of membership completion, depending on it the access can be blocked on account overdue status for that person. One of the needs is to control the entry for handicapped people; where biometric technology can’t serve perfectly. Viva gym wanted to eliminate the people for managing all these activities because it takes more efforts, gives less satisfactory results and makes the gym processes complicated. They wanted to give more facilities & safety to the members.
